Review Friday: Saga Volume One.

So I have decided to do a new segment called Review Fridays! First I was going to make it book reviews but this way, I can review anything. (And yes I know it's not Friday but lets pretend.)
Today I will be reviewing this graphic novel called Saga volume one by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Fiona Staples.

The first volume is $9.99 on Barnesandnobles.com
This book is meant for mature readers, 16 and up. It contains swear words and sexual content but hey its a book and whats a good book without a little juiciness?

Plot:
It takes place in the future where the two main characters, Alana and Marko (above), meet after Alana was banished to a planet named Cleave during war. This story has forbidden love written all over it but so much more juicy.
In the beginning we see Alana giving birth to Hazel, their daughter which causes immense madness among everyone.  Alana's people and funky space assassins are after Hazel and  trying kill her parents, Marko and Alana.
We read on as baby Hazel is a voice of narrative throughout her parents journey to safety.

Why You should read it

The first book is a world wind of wtf's, oh shits, that's awesome! and incredible graphics. Not to mention the natives to some of the lands are epic! like prince robot computer head, severed ghost protecting the forest lands and hooker heads attached to skimpy legs.
Intrigued? you should be.
So who knows what the rest of the series will have. Plus, it's a great piece to share with friends and love ones and its a light but lengthy book you can carry with you anywhere.

Conclusion

Saga has got my stamp of epic approval
(Insert happy emoji face)

Lets get some shoes

Okay so I bought these GORGEOUS shoes that look like they belong on nastygal or missguided but they
were more than half the price that you would pay at those online stores.
I bought these lovely heels at a store called Mandee that has a mixture of popular trendy items, a junior section, fancy lady section, gym clothes, bags, shoes, lingerie and jewelry.  They are having an amazing sale right now and that is how I scored these bad boys.
The deal was buy 1 get the other for $10. So my mom also got shoes and hers was $25 making mine $10 bucks. And still, $25 dollars for these but in red is an amazing deal.
Did I mention I bought these for only $10 dollars?!

Lets get on to the shoes.

Find a Mandee near you so you can get your hands on these wild diva lounge platforms.

I am a size 10 in U.S women. If you get these shoes GO A SIZE DOWN.
They are extremely roomy and run big. The 9 fits me perfectly.

And they look awesome with socks!
This is a great fall/winter shoe because the spaciousness and comfortably allows you to rock these with thick socks or bare foot.

Personally I love how they look with socks.

My grey socks are from a boutique and my lace socks are from a local store.

Ah! I can't stop walking around the house in them <3

2015 Revival

New Year’s resolutions? Um, no. I’m all about the #goals this year; long term plans that are going to make me happy no matter what. Here is a list of things that I’m going to do in 2015 and you should too! To make it more fun, grab a bestie or bae and make it a group thing. The more the happier!

1) Healthy Bitch Vs. Skinny Bitch

Contrary to the title of this first goal, no I am not about to battle anyone that is smaller than me. What I’m saying is FUCK the negativity. A “skinny bitch” is often referred to as talking down to someone who is smaller in weight or saying, “that skinny bitch” being jealous that you aren't like that person. Well babe that is just plain unhealthy. I want to be a healthy bitch and this is how:
  •                Be healthy. Eat the food you love, grab a fruit smoothie, Jam in your room, run in the park. Burn those negative calories off and feel energized.

  •                           Love yourself because then everything will seem easier.

  •                           Find your passion and reach for it. Be it. Live, breath, and eat your dreams.

  •                          Don’t be afraid to fail. Become one with your inner thoughts. Your mind is a magnificent tool, fucking harvest that shit.

  •            And lastly, DO NOT give two shits. Don’t give any shits. This is the year to take care of yourself so you will be set for life.

2) Read a book, read a mother fucking book.

If you remember that song that used to play on the popular BET channel then
we homies for life. This year I am going to read one book a month and I
encourage you to do the same. It can be whatever book you want.
I just finished reading the Saga volume one by Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples.
It’s more like a graphic novel and amazing. I’ll be doing a mini book preview/review on it so you’ll know more before I make you go purchase it.
So yeah, just read. I don’t care if all you read is your cereal box for a whole month. Just:
  •         Open your mind.

  •     Expand your knowledge.

  •      Tell someone off in fancy intellectual words by reading.

3) Reach for the stars little one.

And in summary do you boo.
There is no such thing as I can’t. You can literally do anything you set your mind too. That singer you love, that artist you draw inspiration from, that book you can’t put down, that designer you’re obsessed with, that inventor you want to make proud, that scientist you want to be, and anyone else you consider to be an inspiration, all started out where you are today. Confused, scared and a little hungry but they did it.

And you know what that means? So can you.
