So I have decided to do a new segment called Review Fridays! First I was going to make it book reviews but this way, I can review anything. (And yes I know it's not Friday but lets pretend.)
Today I will be reviewing this graphic novel called Saga volume one by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Fiona Staples.
The first volume is $9.99 on Barnesandnobles.com
This book is meant for mature readers, 16 and up. It contains swear words and sexual content but hey its a book and whats a good book without a little juiciness?
Plot:
It takes place in the future where the two main characters, Alana and Marko (above), meet after Alana was banished to a planet named Cleave during war. This story has forbidden love written all over it but so much more juicy.
In the beginning we see Alana giving birth to Hazel, their daughter which causes immense madness among everyone. Alana's people and funky space assassins are after Hazel and trying kill her parents, Marko and Alana.
We read on as baby Hazel is a voice of narrative throughout her parents journey to safety.
Why You should read it
The first book is a world wind of wtf's, oh shits, that's awesome! and incredible graphics. Not to mention the natives to some of the lands are epic! like prince robot computer head, severed ghost protecting the forest lands and hooker heads attached to skimpy legs.
Intrigued? you should be.
So who knows what the rest of the series will have. Plus, it's a great piece to share with friends and love ones and its a light but lengthy book you can carry with you anywhere.
Conclusion
Saga has got my stamp of epic approval
(Insert happy emoji face)
